What is MAC Address?

A MAC address can be used to uniquely identify your Android phone on the Internet or the local network.In brief words, A Media Access Control address (MAC address) is a 12-character unique identifier assigned to a specific piece of hardware such as the network adapter of your WiFi device.

Why we change MAC?

The most important reason is privacy. If anyone use your local network can easily see your mac address with simple tool's.This gives a hacker to potentially keep track of your devices.If your original MAC address is public and revealed.a hacker can use it to access your device like

• Find your ip address
• cut your internet access
• make some restriction based on IP address
• spoof your mac address. etc.,,
• block your device network 
  

How to spoof your MAC with Device manager:

step 1:

First you Press Windows Key + X and select Command Prompt from the menu.

Step 2:

Now you type this below command on your command prompt. This command will help you to show all network adopter name, physical address and trans-port name.

Step 3:

Now you choose which network adopter MAC address you change it.

Step 4:

Now you press Press Windows Key + X and select Device manager from the list.

Step 5:

Now your device manager open, choose your network adapter, right click it and choose Properties.

Step 6:

Now your properties window opens, navigate to Advanced tab and select Network Address from the list of Properties.

Now Select Value option and enter any 12-character hexadecimal value.then Click OK to save changes.

Now you can see changing your MAC address is rather simple, but keep in mind that your actual physical MAC address remains the same.

How to spoof Windows MAC with software:

Step 1:

First you download Technitium MAC Address Changer.

Step 2:

Now you’ve downloaded and installed this tool, run it.

Step 3:

When Technitium MAC Address Changer starts, you should see the list of all network adapters available.

Step 4:

Select the network adapter you want to change and in the Change MAC address section enter a new MAC address. Remember to use a hexadecimal value. If you wish to make this step faster, you can just click Random MAC Address button that will generate a random MAC address for you.

Step 5:

Click Change Now! button and your MAC address should be changed.

Step 6:

If you wish to restore your default MAC address just click the Restore Original button.
